Optimization of the tundish metallurgy IPC spheric systemTM

In the many years of research work and studying the metal flow from the ladle into the tundish, IPC Refractories has developed and patented a new method for process control of tundish metallurgy through the geometric design of the inner space of the tundish.
This technologically advanced process combines the advantages of using specially designed spherical impact pads and the precise definition of shape and placement of the baffles and dams in the tundish to achieve the following:
- To maximize the reduction of the incidence of non-metallic inclusions in the steel
- To prevent the formation of “red eye” effect (and thus the possible oxidation of the steel) at the level of the molten metal in the tundish
- To suppress the dead volumes arising during steel casting in the tundish.

is a patented process that optimizes your tundish metallurgy, which leads to provable cost savings and a higher extraction of metal.
It is a system that is delivered to our customers as a consistently customized and personalized service. IPC SPHERIC SYSTEMTM is always bound to the modeling based on actual conditions and current state of the customers’ steel plants.
